UTICA, N.Y. -- If you're looking for a place to spend some time on this winter break, why not try the zoo? The Utica Zoo has special winter wildlife programs for students.

This "zoo camp" offers kids the opportunity to learn about the animals, including sea lions, camels, and spider monkeys. They even made a special birdseed treat for a snowy white owl. But in addition to all the fun, it's also an education camp, and it may even influence a certain student's career choice

"When they're here at the zoo, they can learn about different things, like vet tech, veterinarian medicine, environmental science, farming, so really their career may be born from these educational experiences while they're out of school here at the Utica Zoo," said Andria Heath, Utica Zoo Executive Director.

Now in its 98th year, the Utica Zoo offers year round events for both young and old alike.
