WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. -- An autopsy is scheduled for Monday on the man police say was shot and killed while hunting in Warren County.
Sheriff's office says Terry Lavergne, 53, was out with two others in the Town of Chester when he was shot in the left hip. That bullet, deputies say, was fired by one of his hunting partners and hit an artery.
Lavergne's friends reportedly carried him more than a mile out of the woods to meet the ambulance. He was taken to Glens Falls Hospital where he later died.
Right now, no criminal charges have been filed.
