ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Washington Avenue Armory is put to the test Friday night. Thousands flocked there for a Masquerave.

The rave was originally scheduled for October, but was cancelled after three police officers were hurt at a similar event. Since then, the venue has worked with the city zoning board and the police department to establish a new set of safety guidelines specifically for Friday's event.

New ticketing options and entrance procedures were introduced. A curfew was also set. The Armory is hoping the board will give them the go-ahead to regularly host these DJ-type events.

Meanwhile, people who live nearby want more input into these guidelines.

"There's four neighborhood associations that way, there's another one that way... There's three city council members, there's two county legislators, there's congress people, there's assembly people, there's senators - and none of them were a part of that process," said Rich Berkley, Hudson/Park Neighborhood Association president.

A spokesperson for the venue says they look forward to hearing public input at the next zoning meeting. It's unclear when the board will vote. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
