The man wanted in connection with a triple stabbing on Myrtle Avenue in the City of Albany was arraigned today. Michael Anderson, 29, pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. Megan Cruz has the details.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A threat from Anthony Thomas, a father whose daughter was murdered.

"I wanted to see justice done," said Thomas. "If they didn't catch him, I was going to try to catch him and kill him."

Police say the person responsible is Michael Anderson, 29. An incident in his cell delayed his arraignment Wednesday by a couple hours.

"He smashed his own head against the metal bars, which caused a laceration," said Albany Police Spokesperson Steve Smith. "He was taken to an Albany hospital."

Anderson made it back to court around noon. He's been charged with second degree murder and attempted murder for stabbing Thomas' two daughters and their aunt.

"It shouldn't have been done. They were good girls," said Jessica Sprattley of her two nieces, Tonette and Shaquasia Thomas. "They didn't deserve it. It's just not fair, especially Tonette's life being cut so short."

Tonette was just 20-years-old. She was found dead outside their Myrtle Avenue home Monday afternoon.

The other two were found inside and are now being treated for multiple stab wounds in Albany Medical Center.

Anderson was arrested Tuesday night. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

"Been broken up, but he's just a stalker,” said Eileen Thomas, cousin to the two Thomas sisters.

She and other family members say Anderson had been dating Shaquasia Thomas, 26. But when she ended the relationship, he started threatening her and the family.

"Bodily harm. To kill us, her whole family," said Sprattley.

She says they were working on getting a restraining order, but police weren't helpful.

"I'm unaware of these other incidents that may have happened beforehand," said Smith. "What I can tell you is that on Monday, we received a call at 2:30 p.m. and from that moment on, we actively investigated this case and we placed the suspect in custody."

Anderson is due back in court December 3rd. Family members say they'll be there.
