Schuylerville's Saratoga National Cemetery recognized the bravery and sacrifice made by veterans on Sunday. Our Brooke Selby brings us the sights and sounds that made this ceremony particularly special.

SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. -- In honor of Veterans Day, Saratoga National Cemetery paid tribute to military members everywhere.

"Saratoga National is a very special place," said Maj. General Verle L. Johnston Jr. of the New York Air National Guard.

Verle was the keynote speaker at the event, but several other speakers took to the podium to express their gratitude for service members.

"Veterans are heros and they deserve respect," said one young speaker.

"I've flown missions with them all over the world to the South Pole, Greenland, Europe, the Pacific and it's just very intense to come to Saratoga National Cemetery where I have friends here," said Johnston.

Michael Bumiglia added, "They do something that everyone calls serving, and to serve is to render assistance to, and they've rendered that assistance to our country, they give us the right to practice our religion of choice, elect officials of our choice and that's a privilege not many people around the world have."

Veterans at the event conveyed one simple message: take time out of your day to just say thank you. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
