Aging bridges and roads in the Capital Region will receive much needed repairs, thanks to the New York Works Program. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Tuesday that the Capital Region will be getting millions of dollars in funding for the projects. Erin Connolly has more.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- It should be good news for the safety of some 170 thousand commuters who drive local bridges every day.

The Patroon Island Bridge and the Twin Bridges are set for major overhauls. They're two of 17 bridges in the Capital Region getting new state funding.

It's part of 2,000 miles of roads and 110 bridges being repaired statewide.

More than $20 million will be put toward the Twin Bridges alone.

Officials estimate it will bring nearly 20,000 jobs statewide.
