Videojournalist

Jim Vasil is proud to be the Pittsfield bureau reporter for Time Warner Cable News.

Jim, a native of Bordentown, New Jersey, graduated cum laude from Rider University in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in radio and television. While in college, he immersed himself into the world of television news by reporting and anchoring for RUN100 (Rider’s on-campus television channel) and through internships at SNY and NY1 News.

Jim was a member of the National Broadcasting Society throughout college and was awarded the grand prize for Video News Package in the 2014 NBS Student Electronic Media Competition. He was also honored by Rider University as Student Journalist of the Year (2013) and was awarded the Frederick L. Ferris Award for Excellence in Journalism (2014).

When Jim isn’t reporting, you can find him playing golf at one of the Berkshires’ beautiful courses, visiting the beach back in Jersey, or cheering for his favorite teams, the Giants, Yankees and Knicks. He currently resides in Berkshire County.
